Research & Development
Personal zines, drawings & photographs are a strong element of Baby Velvets brand.
So in 2020 when pandemic lockdowns mean’t music videos, couldn’t shoot motion collage made the most sense.
Her other branding motifs included: scorpions, roses, the colour peach and lime green.
While the video does include some scanned versions of Baby Velvet’s photos and zines. Most of the collage assets used in the video were thoughtfully sourced from public domain websites and cut out and altered digitally. By myself of my assistant Sylvie.
Storyboarding
The lyrics of this song are so visual & cinematic that I started to see the story of a Las Vegas wedding upon my first listen. While some shots changed throughout the process for the most part this storyboard acted as a guide.
