How much does an Illustration cost

Much like animation it really depends on a number of factors.

What are the deliverables? [ As in: what do you need delivered from me ] How many illustrations you require? What is the subject matter? Is there something of mine that particularly caught your eye? Will it feature real life people and need to look like them? From there I can work out how complex will it be to draw and how much time will do into it.

How will it be used and why? As in is it personal? Or commercial?

Commissioning an illustration doesn’t mean you own the work outright, I retain copyright.

You own a license which states how and where you may use the image. Therefore we need to establish what the usage terms are. Which media it be used across (online, print, billboards etc.), where in the world it will be seen, and how long it will be used for. The more a piece of work is used the more it will cost.

If you’re able to provide some answers to the questions above, I’ll be able to create an initial quote.

Is there anything you wont draw?

♡I will not draw replicas of other peoples work.

♡I will not draw hate symbols.

♡I will not draw images perpetuating racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or ablest beliefs.

Can I license an existing illustration?

Possibly. It depends on what that illustration was originally created for and any existing license agreements relating to it. If the work is free to use then I’m happy to negotiate a license fee.
